During the Knicks championship parade, off-duty first responders and even bystanders with no medical training jumped in to save a man’s life after he showed signs of an opioid overdose. Simone Kelly with the South Orange Rescue Squad recognized the signs, and someone in the crowd tossed up a dose of Narcan® before paramedics arrived. A powerful reminder that overdoses can happen anywhere, anytime, and having naloxone on hand can mean the difference between life and death.
